Update July 24: With about three days left, the Distil Union trio crossed the $50,000 finish line and is currently at $52,007.
Congrats to the Charleston designers.
If you want to get early dibs on one, you have until July 26 at 3:48 p.m. to kick in.
First reporting: With their roots in designing iPod and iPhone cases, Nate Justiss, Adam Printz, and Lindsay Windham make up the small King Street design shop Distil Union, and they've stuck it on their own and are looking to make a new type of iPhone accessory.
One that lets you slap it to snooze the alarm, instead of finding and squeezing those volume buttons.
In their words, "We were tired of fumbling for our iPhone alarm in the morning, so we created Snooze – the bedside stand with a big snooze bar. It creates a home for your iPhone and cable, so no more knocking your iPhone off of the nightstand or turning your alarm off by accident."
The plan call for an American maker with American maple used for the wood.
Catch is, they need money to produce it — and they're hoping they can get that $50,000 through regular folks using Kickstarter — hand over $40 and you'll get the dock and a sync/charger cable.
