One Book Charleston County continues in October with programs, book discussions, movie screenings and exhibits based on the raw emotional drama depicted in Jonathan Safran Foer’s novel "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close".
One Book Charleston County is designed as a community-wide event to encourage residents to read and discuss the same book at the same time. This year’s book looks at the raw emotional drama of the main characters following the World Trade Center attacks, an event that served as a touchstone for a generation and created a common experience that impacted the nation.
This year’s One Book program kicked off on September 11 and continues through October 23 when author Jonathan Safran Foer will be speaking at the College of Charleston.
