Established by eco-conscious film lovers in Sierra Nevada, California, this film festival has branched out nationally and is debuting in Charleston.
Organized by the Coastal Conservation League and Halfmoon Outfitters, the WSEFF will exhibit three of the ten films chosen by the national festival organizers. The three selected films characterize environmental features of the southeast.
The Charleston City Paper discusses a special guest appearance:
The evening’s feature, "Mountain Top Removal," is a hard look at that practice’s impact on the Appalachian communities that supply the coal to power plants. The film’s director, Michael O’Conner, is traveling to Charleston to speak briefly after the showing.
