Since 2007, South Carolina's homeless student population has risen 45% to 8,750. And the last count was done all the way back in June.
And things certainly don't seem like they've gotten better since then.

Though, I should note that the metric used to calculate a homeless student is pretty broad and doesn't require that a student be sleeping on the streets.
