The Charleston Regional Business Journal reports that state lawmakers are pushing hard to find a compromise in the ongoing debate over more rail access to a new North Charleston port.
For weeks debate has ragged about whether or not the state had the right to run more rail line past North Charleston's prized waterfront. The city said the state had no right and threatened to sue if they tried.
Tensions rose higher after a "missing communication" was unconverted that appeared to indicate that the State Ports Authority was quite involved in the issue it had earlier said it was not. -- The Post and Courier reported on that aspect.
