Wheel of Fortune will be back in the area with their Wheelmobile on April 26th to 27th at the Conway campus of Horry Georgetown Tech in search of energetic fans who want to get a chance to be Wheel players on TV.
The event is scheduled to be held outdoors on Horry Georgetown Technical College's Promenade and Quadrangle area located at the center of the Conway Campus. Ample parking for the event will be provided in the West and Southern parking lots accessed via Technology Boulevard, between University Boulevard and Victory Lane. In case of severe inclement weather, the event will move indoors and applications will be distributed in Café 1100 and the event will take place inside Burroughs & Chapin Auditorium.
We will begin handing out applications one hour before each show begins. Shows will begin at 1:00 PM, 2:30 PM, and 4:00 PM, with each show lasting about an hour. There is no need to arrive hours in advance of the event. Everyone who attends the event will be able to submit an application. We will select participants to come to the stage and audition via a random draw.
How does the Wheelmobile event work?
"At each event thousands fill out applications for the chance to have a go at a traveling version of the game show. Throughout the event, individuals are called to the stage to play a Wheel of Fortune speed-up round — each prospective contestant appearing on stage will win special show-themed prizes, and the most promising candidates are invited back to a final audition for the show. Even if your application isn’t chosen you’ll still experience all the fun of Wheel of Fortune as if you were at a taping with Pat and Vanna. We’ll also place your application in a drawing for a spot in the final contestant auditions.
But unfortunately, showing up to a Wheelmobile event doesn’t guarantee you an audition for the live show. There are many people who have an interest in being a contestant and not everyone makes the cut. Last year, more than a million people applied and only 600 were selected. So if making an event means sacrificing expenses, loss of wages or more, don’t fret, we’ll surely be back around again."
