Registration is now open for PubSmart 2014, taking place at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston, SC April 16-18, 2014.
PubSmart will offer three days of information-packed sessions designed to inform authors and small publishers about the latest distribution methods in print and digital; how to raise funds for book projects; marketing and publicizing books in today’s digital era; the best discoverability tools for authors and more!
The conference will kick off on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 with four master classes sponsored by the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA). On Wednesday evening, The College of Charleston will host a cocktail “Meet Charleston” reception to welcome faculty and PubSmart attendees. Charleston’s historic Francis Marion hotel will host all PubSmart sessions and meal events on Thursday and Friday.
More than forty faculty members will be on hand to lead discussion topics, including a keynote breakfast featuring publisher Jane Friedman and a keynote lunch with bestselling author Hugh Howey. Other special events include a “Moveable Feast” dinner paying homage to the golden age of authors (then and now!), and a “Dish & Dialog” brunch, offering attendees the chance to network with faculty members of their choice.
