Update, October 21:

The Post and Courier has followed up with a more detailed report in their morning edition; read it here.

First reporting:

The Post and Courier reports that Patriots Point may be fighting a losing battle in its attempts to save the deteriorating warship USS Yorktown.

The Department of the Navy sent Patriots Point an ultimatum to either put the vessel in dry-dock for repairs or develop a plan to dispose of the aging ship. The cost to repair the rusting hull is estimated to cost the state of $100 million.

The saga of the aging warship is many months old, you can dig in over here.
